The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Youth Wing on Sunday staged a major rally in Funtua Zone of Katsina State, drawing over 50 support groups and party loyalists in a fiery show of strength and political awakening.

The event, held on October 19, 2025, brought together key party figures including National Youth Leader Comrade Balarabe Rufai, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, Katsina State Chairman Alhaji Musa Usman Wamba, National Deputy Legal Adviser Barr. Mustapha Shittu, and State Youth Leader Maiyaki.

The gathering was marked by passionate speeches, chants, and renewed calls for young Nigerians to take the driver’s seat in the country’s political future.

Rufai told the crowd that the youth must claim their rightful place in the struggle for justice, fairness and good governance. He praised the National Chairman, Senator David Mark, for his consistent support for young people.

“With resilience, courage, and commitment to service, the youth can secure not just 35% but up to 70% of all elective and appointive positions in the next political phase,” Rufai declared to applause.

He warned politicians defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) that changing parties would not save them from public judgment.

“Nigerians, especially the youth, are tired of recycled leaders. You have failed to provide jobs, security and hope. The tide is turning,” he said.

Rufai vowed that in two years, every political seat occupied by the old guard would be contested and reclaimed by credible young Nigerians under the ADC.

“We are not waiting for permission anymore. We are organizing, mobilizing and taking back our future. The ADC youth are ready, and our time has come,” he added.

The rally signals ADC’s growing grassroots momentum in northern Nigeria as it sets its sights on the 2027 elections, positioning youth mobilization at the heart of its political strategy.
