The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, DFS, has reiterated that transformation, innovation, and decisive action are critical to strengthening the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN).

Speaking at the Third Quarter 2025 Defence Headquarters and Services Transformation Seminar held at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters in Abuja, the Air Chief described the event as a significant step toward formulating strategies to enhance national defence.

He noted that Nigerian military personnel deployed across all six geopolitical zones remain resolute in restoring peace and order through joint and inter-agency operations.

“The will to fight goes beyond weapons; it includes psychological stability, physical fitness, ideological conviction, and confidence in leadership,” Abubakar said, adding that loyalty, trust, resilience, and unit cohesion remain central to victory.

Highlighting NAF’s recent strides, he announced the revival of the Nigerian Air Force Surveillance Aircraft (NAFSA) Eagle Project, aimed at advancing self-reliance in aerospace technology. Training has also been intensified, with incentives for personnel engaged in research and innovation.

Abubakar emphasised troop welfare as a key enabler, outlining new accommodation projects, medical improvements, logistics upgrades, and fitness initiatives across NAF bases.

Earlier, Chief of Transformation and Innovation, Air Vice Marshal A.H. Amesinlola, commended participants for their commitment to driving cross-service collaboration and innovative solutions.

The Air Chief expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the Armed Forces with modern platforms and an enabling environment, urging participants to generate actionable strategies to strengthen the military’s collective will to fight.
