The Cross River State government has withdrawn approval for the movement of cattle belonging to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association from Ebonyi State through the state to Cameroon.
The decision, announced by Emmanuel Anom, Commissioner for Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development, replaces an earlier authorization and comes amid rising security concerns nationwide.
Anom directed all security agencies to prevent any cattle movement across the state, emphasizing that the order is binding and effective immediately. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
