In a significant move to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for Adamawa pilgrims, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has appointed the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Ribadu, as the Amirul-Hajj and head of the state’s delegation to the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The appointment, announced on Monday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, highlights Ribadu’s “hard work, experience, and unwavering commitment to religious affairs” in Adamawa State.
Alhaji Ribadu will lead a five-man delegation, which includes:
- Alhaji Muhammad Buba Jidjiwa
- Barrister A.T. Shehu
- Alhaji Ibrahim Abba
- Alhaji Abubakar Murtala
- Alhaji Mohammed Dabo, who will serve as Secretary
Governor Fintiri urged the delegation to demonstrate utmost dedication to their assignment and work closely with relevant agencies to ensure a seamless Hajj operation for the state’s intending pilgrims.
“This is a sacred responsibility. I charge you all to bring your wealth of experience to bear in delivering a hitch-free and successful Hajj for our people,” the Governor stated.
The Amirul-Hajj traditionally plays a pivotal role in coordinating the welfare, logistics, and spiritual needs of pilgrims from their departure through to their return, and Alhaji Ribadu’s selection has been widely welcomed as a move rooted in trust and experience.
Preparations for the 2025 Hajj are already underway across Nigeria, with state governments finalizing logistics amid high expectations from pilgrims.
