In a sweeping administrative shake-up, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has dissolved all 50 Development Area Administrators across the state with immediate effect.

The decision, which was announced on Thursday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, marks a significant shift in the governance structure of the state’s grassroots administration. The affected administrators have been directed to hand over official responsibilities, documents, and assets to the most senior staff in their respective areas to ensure continuity of governance.

Governor Fintiri, in a message of appreciation, lauded the outgoing administrators for their dedication and service, calling them “great motivators” who played an instrumental role in stimulating development across the state’s grassroots communities.

“I commend the Development Area Administrators for their tireless efforts in stimulating development at the grassroots level. Their support has been instrumental in achieving successes in our state,” Fintiri said. “I wish them well in their future endeavors and assure the people of Adamawa State that we will continue to prioritize their welfare and development.”

The Governor emphasized that the decision, while significant, is part of broader efforts to re-energize grassroots governance and realign administrative operations to better serve the public. He also assured that the transition process would be smooth, with guidance from the Governor’s Office to support the most senior staff now stepping into acting leadership roles.

This development comes amid growing expectations for reforms and improved public service delivery in Adamawa, as the Fintiri administration continues to position itself for greater developmental strides in its current tenure.

With this move, attention now turns to the possible restructuring or reappointment of new administrators, as stakeholders and residents alike await further policy directions from the state government.
