Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has once again reiterated his stance on the revocation of government lands that have been illegally encroached upon or occupied by individuals and organizations.
The Governor, who spoke to journalists after inspecting ongoing government projects, emphasized that his directive remains in full force and that necessary actions would be taken to reclaim these lands.
Fintiri’s statement follows his inspection of the office facilities of the State Agricultural Mechanization Authority in Yola, where he expressed concerns over the illegal occupation of land meant for government use.
Fintiri condemned the actions of those who have taken advantage of public resources, converting them for personal gain.
“This action is long overdue,” Fintiri stated. “In 2019, I announced the revocation of lands illegally occupied by individuals or organizations, and while the government aims to use these facilities for job creation and youth empowerment, some individuals have converted them for selfish purposes.”
He vowed to take immediate steps to restore these lands for government use, stressing that any unlawful development would either be demolished or repurposed for public benefit. “We will either convert these lands to government property or remove them completely and construct structures that will benefit our youth,” Fintiri added.
While emphasizing the importance of addressing the illegal land occupations, Fintiri also expressed satisfaction with ongoing government projects in the state.

During his inspection of the state-of-the-art laboratory complex at the State Specialist Hospital, Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency, and a model primary school in Jimeta, the Governor highlighted the government’s commitment to improving healthcare and education in the region.
The projects, which are nearing completion, are part of the Governor’s broader efforts to bridge the gaps in essential services for the state’s citizens. Fintiri reaffirmed that these initiatives are designed to enhance the lives of Adamawa’s people, especially through job creation and improved public infrastructure.
With a clear resolve to reclaim government properties and prevent further illegal occupation, Governor Fintiri’s administration is sending a strong message about the protection and utilization of public assets for the welfare of the state’s citizens.
