The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Mustapha, and eight other key officials over alleged misconduct, insubordination, and attempts to hijack the party’s leadership.
The decision, reached at an emergency State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting in Kaduna on Wednesday, was described as a “necessary purge to restore discipline.”
Those affected include State Publicity Secretary Idris Musa, Vice Chairman (Zone 1) Sulaiman Abdullahi, Treasurer Gambo Sani, Financial Secretary Magaji Maiwada, Legal Adviser Danlami Dabai Musa, Coordinator of Persons with Disabilities Saura Muhammed, Deputy Youth Leader Ibrahim Muhammed, and one Mansur Gaga.
State Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, said the expelled members were involved in activities “capable of undermining the unity and image of the ADC” by forging documents, extorting members, and plotting to alter leadership structures.
“As law-abiding members, we are committed to upholding our constitution and safeguarding the party’s integrity. No individual is above the law,” Ambut stated.
The SEC also appointed the Deputy State Publicity Secretary, Alex Tagwai, as Acting Publicity Secretary to ensure stability within the state executive.
