The Fufore Emirate Council in Adamawa State has officially inaugurated 16 newly appointed members, including the former Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Malam Abubakar Jijiwa, who now serves as the Waziri of the Emirate.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Emir’s Palace in Fufore, was presided over by the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu. In his address, the Emir urged the new council members to uphold the fear of God, integrity, and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Ribadu described the appointees as individuals of proven character and competence, calling on them to use their diverse experience to promote peace, progress, and stability within the Emirate.

He also commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving the appointments, reaffirming his commitment to fostering justice, security, and inclusive governance across the region. The Emir appealed to residents to support the council members in achieving their mandate.

Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated members, Malam Abubakar Jijiwa expressed appreciation to the Emir for the confidence reposed in them. Jijiwa, who also chairs the Emirate Council, pledged that the team would work diligently and transparently to advance the Emirate’s development agenda.

“With our combined knowledge and experience, we will stand firmly with His Royal Highness in fostering peace, unity, and sustainable growth across the Emirate,” Jijiwa stated.

The event attracted traditional leaders, government officials, and community representatives, marking a significant step in strengthening the administrative structure of the Fufore Emirate.
