The Association of Indigenous Contractors of Nigeria (AICAN) has threatened to stage a nationwide protest on November 3, 2025, over the Federal Government’s alleged failure to pay for completed 2024 projects.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, AICAN President Jackson Ifeanyi described the situation as a “grave injustice,” noting that members executed government-approved projects in good faith but were yet to receive payment.

He said many contractors were now indebted and financially strained, warning that members would boycott all 2025 projects unless mobilisation funds were released upfront.

National General Secretary Babatunde Seun urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene, while National Director of Planning, Stanley Agboni, stressed that the projects were legally executed and deserved timely payment.

Although the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation had earlier assured contractors of payment, AICAN insists the promises remain unfulfilled and vows to continue its protest until all arrears are cleared.
