President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire outbreak that claimed the lives of several pupils at an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended his heartfelt condolences to the families, guardians, and loved ones of the victims. He also sympathized with the Zamfara State Government and the proprietors of the school, acknowledging the devastating impact of the incident.

The President prayed for the quick recovery of those receiving medical treatment and emphasized the urgent need for public and private schools to prioritize the safety and security of children at all times. He directed regulatory authorities in the education sector to enforce compliance with safety standards to prevent such tragedies in the future.

“Children’s safety must remain paramount in all educational institutions. This heartbreaking incident underscores the need for stricter safety regulations and proactive measures to protect our young learners,” President Tinubu stated.

As investigations into the fire continue, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving safety protocols in schools across the country. He prayed for God Almighty to grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and provide strength and comfort to their grieving families.

This tragic event has once again raised concerns about fire safety measures in educational institutions, particularly in regions where infrastructure and emergency response capabilities are limited.

The Federal Government’s renewed emphasis on school safety regulations will be closely monitored in the coming weeks as stakeholders push for improved standards and stricter enforcement to prevent similar incidents in the future.
