The Adamawa State Police Command is investigating two separate cases of domestic violence that resulted in the deaths of family members in Madagali and Gombi local government areas.

In the first case, a fight broke out between two co-wives, Rhoda Anthony (55) and Victoria Anthony (36), in Pallam District, Madagali. During the altercation, Victoria’s 16-year-old son, Ijai Anthony, reportedly hit his stepmother, Rhoda, on the head with a wooden object. She later died at the hospital. Both the suspect and his mother are now in protective custody.

In the second case, in Fotta District, Gombi, one Idi Buba allegedly stabbed his father, Buba Jelli, in the neck and back following a domestic dispute. The victim died while receiving treatment. The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the knife used in the attack was recovered.

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, condemned the killings and urged residents to resolve disputes peacefully. He confirmed that all suspects will be prosecuted after investigations.
