The Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and member representing Jada/Mbulo constituency Hon. Muhammad Buba Jijjiwa, has called on the state government and other relevant agencies to take immediate action to address the outbreak of diarrhea and vomiting in his constituency.

The lawmaker made the call under matters of urgent public importance raised on the floor of house Wednesday, on the rising cases of vomiting and diarrhea in Jada mbulo constituency which claimed about seven lives and continue to pose threat to public health.

Hon. Jijjiwa warned that the situation could escalate if not promptly addressed by the relevant stakeholders.

He prayed to the house to as matter of urgency mandate the Adamawa state ministry of health and human services to provide necessary medication and sensitize the general public on hygiene practices to curtail the deadly outbreak.

The lawmaker also prayed to the house as part of its resolution to mandate the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) and other relevant health authorities to provide humanitarian assistance, including Food and Medical Aid to families affected by the outback.

He also prayed to the house to mandate its standing committee on health and human services and other relevant committees to monitor the compliance of the house resolution and report back for further action.

Responding to the submissions made by the deputy speaker, the speaker of the house Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley who presided over the session while sympathizing with the victims urged relevant stakeholders to look into the plight of the residents and come up with urgent measures to curb the menace.
