    Yola, Adamawa State

The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has dissolved the Management Board of the Jimeta Modern Market with immediate effect.

According to an official statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chairman and all members of the Board have been relieved of their duties and directed to hand over all government properties in their possession to the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.

Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of maintaining stability and efficiency in market operations during the transition. “The Ministry of Commerce and Industry must now ensure a seamless transition and work diligently to maintain the market’s functionality,” he said.

He also called on the ministry to prioritize the welfare of market stakeholders and foster an enabling environment that supports economic growth across the state. “The market’s success is crucial to the state’s economic well-being, and we expect the ministry to take all necessary steps to ensure its optimal operation,” the Governor added.

The move signals a potential restructuring aimed at enhancing the performance and governance of one of Adamawa’s most significant commercial hubs.
