A  Magistrate’s Court in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, the IPOB leader’s brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu, and ten others in the sum of ₦500,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

The 13 defendants were arraigned on charges of inciting public disturbance and breach of peace following the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest held in Abuja on Monday, October 20.

Ejimakor, Emmanuel Kanu, and the ten others were arrested during the protest and remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre earlier in the week. Sowore, who had attended Kanu’s terrorism trial at the Federal High Court to show solidarity, was reportedly arrested on October 23 within the court premises.

The case marks another chapter in the ongoing tensions surrounding Nnamdi Kanu’s prolonged detention and the renewed calls for his release.
