The Federal Ministry of Education has officially launched the 2025/2026 Technical Teachers Training Programme (TTTP), a tuition-free one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) designed to equip public secondary school teachers in technical and vocational subjects with modern teaching skills.

Announced through the Department of Technology and Science Education in Abuja, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to revitalise Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria and align the education sector with 21st-century industry standards.

The application portal will open 8 July 2025 and close 21 July 2025, with eligible applicants required to: Be currently teaching technical or vocational subjects in public schools, have at least five years left before retirement and submit a valid medical fitness report.

The PGDE will cover fields like Building Technology, Business Education, Metal Work, Automobile, Electrical/Electronics, and Computer Science, among others.

The programme will run across six partnering universities: Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Federal University of Technology, Minna, University of Benin, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.

Interested candidates can apply through education.gov.ng or directly via the application form. Required documents include appointment and confirmation letters, academic certificates, and proof of state of origin.

The Ministry emphasized that only one application per candidate is allowed and warned that multiple submissions will result in disqualification.
