Governor Fintiri Flags Off Construction of Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex

Jimeta, Adamawa State – February 10, 2025

In a landmark move to boost economic growth and modernize Adamawa State’s commercial landscape, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially flagged off the construction of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex. The groundbreaking ceremony, held in Jimeta, marks the beginning of a transformative project that aims to create a vibrant commercial hub for traders, investors, and residents.

During his speech at the event, Governor Fintiri emphasized the strategic importance of the project, stating that it aligns with his administration’s vision to drive economic prosperity, promote sustainable urban development, and provide job opportunities for the people of Adamawa.

“This project is not just about erecting a structure; it is about creating an enduring legacy, a commercial hub that will attract investments, foster economic growth, and create jobs for our youth and the people of Adamawa,” he declared.

The Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex is designed to feature high-end retail outlets, office spaces, food courts, and recreational areas, making it a key driver of economic activity. Governor Fintiri noted that the project would empower local entrepreneurs and small-scale businesses while also positioning Adamawa as a commercial destination in the Northeast region.

The project, valued at ₦19.7 billion, is expected to be completed within 18 months. To ensure efficiency and timely delivery, it has been divided into three LOTs, each awarded to reputable construction firms:

  • LOT 1 – LUBELL Nig. LTD
  • LOT 2 – Madugu Commercial and Construction Company
  • LOT 3 – AMIJAPP Nig. Ltd

Governor Fintiri assured that the project will be closely monitored by Mssr Associated Design Consultants, a leading technical consultancy firm, to guarantee the highest standards of execution.

He also called on traders and business stakeholders to take ownership of the project by actively collaborating with the state’s Ministry of Commerce. He dismissed skepticism regarding the completion of the project, reiterating that his administration has a track record of initiating and completing major developmental projects in the state.

“This is the new Adamawa where no one is left behind, and nothing is left untouched. We have never initiated a project that we cannot complete,” he stated confidently.

Governor Fintiri expressed optimism that the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex will soon be completed and commissioned, further cementing Adamawa’s reputation as a center for commerce and investment.

The ceremony was attended by top government officials, business leaders, and members of the Adamawa State commercial community, all of whom welcomed the initiative as a step towards economic revitalization in the state.
