Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has signed into law a bill creating and regulating the official Seal of Adamawa State. The legislation, cited as “A Bill For A Law To Create The Seal of Adamawa and Regulate Its Use 2025”, provides legal backing for the Seal’s creation, protection, and authorized use.
Governor Fintiri described the development as a historic milestone in preserving Adamawa’s identity and cultural heritage, noting that the Seal symbolizes dignity, unity, and authority. “This Seal tells our story as a people—our courage, our intellect, our resources, and our unity. It belongs to every citizen of Adamawa, and must therefore be treated with reverence,” he stated.
The law reserves the Seal for official government use, with limited approvals allowed for commemorative or educational purposes. Unauthorized use, including for political or commercial purposes, attracts stiff penalties: individuals risk fines of ₦250,000 or two years’ imprisonment, while corporate offenders face up to ₦1 million in fines.
Featuring symbols such as the Kakaki, Spear, Horse, Lion, 21 Stars, Book, Agricultural icons, and a Fisherman, the Seal reflects Adamawa’s heritage, strength, education, and economic vibrancy.
