Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has presented employment letters to 1,038 successful candidates in agriculture-related fields, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to reviving the sector and reducing unemployment.

The distribution ceremony, held at the Government House in Kano, was attended by top government officials, traditional leaders, and beneficiaries from the 44 local government areas.

“This administration is committed to restoring the lost glory of agriculture in Kano,” Governor Yusuf said, adding that the new recruits form a vital part of the state’s strategy for food security and economic empowerment.

The new agricultural extension workers will be deployed to various agencies and field units to promote modern farming methods, agro-processing, and community-based agricultural development. The governor also noted that efforts to expand irrigation and upgrade infrastructure are underway.

Chairwoman of the State Civil Service Commission, Ladidi Garko, advised the new employees to remain disciplined and abide by civil service rules. She stressed the importance of professionalism and warned against absenteeism, lateness, and corruption.

Garko also assured that the government would continue to implement youth empowerment and human capital development initiatives across sectors.
