The Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its top leadership over allegations of misconduct, financial mismanagement, and poor governance.
State Publicity Secretary Jamilu Muhammad announced the decision at a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, naming Chairman Sufiyanu Bala, Deputy Chairman Junaidu Muhammed Mudi, and Secretary Hawwa’u Muhammed as those affected.
Muhammad alleged that the officials diverted party funds for personal use, made unilateral decisions without the State Working Committee’s consent and failed to uphold transparency, accountability, and unity within the party.
“They have failed to position the ADC for political relevance in Kebbi State,” he stated.
Following the suspension, Abdulrazaq Abubakar Isah Iko has been appointed Acting Chairman, while Adamu Aliyu will serve as Acting Secretary.
The party also cautioned the public against conducting party business with the suspended officials and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to curb early political campaigns in violation of the Electoral Act.
