    Abuja, February 5, 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Wednesday for a private visit to Paris, France, before heading to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.

According to a statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu will first meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris before proceeding to Ethiopia early next week.

The AU summit, scheduled from February 12 to 16, 2025, will also feature the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council. The gathering will bring together African leaders to discuss key regional and continental issues, including economic development, security, and governance.

President Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to regional integration and leadership within the African Union. His visit to France ahead of the summit also signals continued diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and France.
