In a groundbreaking move to enhance digital learning and entrepreneurship in higher education, TITA Universal Service Limited (TUS) has partnered with The Gambia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology. This follows a successful engagement between Hon. Minister Prof. Pierre Gomez and TITA during his recent week-long working visit to Nigeria.
During his visit, the Nigerian Government, through the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), pledged five senior professors to support the University of Education, The Gambia (UEG) in its transformation process. Additionally, the ECOWAS Commission committed to providing a consultant to develop The Gambia’s Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Policy and to fund a one-year Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) internship program for Gambian students.
TITA Universal Service, a leading Nigerian IT firm specializing in AI-driven educational solutions, will introduce its innovative mobile application to tertiary institutions in The Gambia. The application, designed to streamline academic and administrative processes, will offer students AI-generated timetables, course registration, CGPA tracking, assignment submissions, and academic discussion forums. For university administrators, the platform provides a comprehensive system to monitor lecturers’ workloads and optimize institutional efficiency.
TITA assured the Hon. Minister that the platform is highly secure and comes at no cost to students and institutions in The Gambia. Recognizing the transformative potential of this solution, Prof. Gomez extended an invitation for TITA to officially launch the application in The Gambia, making it accessible to tertiary and higher education institutions across the country.
This collaboration underscores the increasing role of digital solutions in education and the commitment of West African nations to harness technology for learning and skill development. With TITA’s support, students in The Gambia will not only experience seamless academic management but also gain access to entrepreneurial training through TITA’s Tita Student Entrepreneurial Seminar (tSES) initiative.
As the education landscape continues to evolve, the strategic partnership between Nigeria and The Gambia is set to redefine how students and institutions interact with technology, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence across the region.
