Meet the 23-Year-Old Tech Visionary Transforming Education in Africa

At just 23, Aisha Aminu Mohammed is leading a technological revolution in education through TITA Universal Service, an innovative ed-tech company transforming the way students and educators interact with digital learning tools.

Born out of a passion for improving access to quality education, TITA aims to bridge the gap between technology and learning, particularly in underserved communities.

In an exclusive interview with The North Journals, Aisha Aminu Mohammed shares how her journey began with a vision to empower students and simplify educational processes.

Witnessing firsthand the struggles of students in accessing proper learning tools, she developed a platform that not only enhances academic management but also fosters digital innovation among young people.

Starting a tech company in Nigeria comes with unique obstacles, from limited infrastructure to securing funding and earning credibility as a young entrepreneur.

Additionally, leading a team of young women in a male-dominated industry added another layer of difficulty.

However, through resilience, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to high-quality product delivery, Ms Aminu  and her team navigated these challenges to establish TITA as a trusted name in ed-tech.

TITA’s flagship product, the e-timetable app, has gained widespread adoption among students and lecturers for its simplicity and efficiency.

Unlike other platforms, it was developed with direct input from users, ensuring it meets their unique academic needs.

By optimizing schedules and offering real-time updates, the app has earned recognition from the Nigerian Minister of Education for its contribution to SDG-4 (Quality Education).

Beyond the e-timetable, TITA Universal Service has developed other innovative platforms, including Yangabid, a gaming and rewards platform; Oysta, an affordable content streaming service; and Jupiter, a tool designed to streamline academic administration.

Each of these projects reflects TITA’s broader mission: merging technology with everyday challenges to improve lives.

Recognizing that accessibility remains a major hurdle in African education, TITA ensures its technology is lightweight, data-efficient, and compatible with low-end devices.

In addition to forming partnerships with educational institutions and telecom providers, the company runs the TITA Student Entrepreneurship Seminar (tSES), equipping young entrepreneurs with skills to drive change in their communities.

TITA is set to extend its impact beyond Nigeria, with expansion plans in The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

For Ms Aminu, this milestone marks a significant step in realizing her vision of making quality education accessible across Africa. The company’s expansion strategy involves local partnerships, market research, and training programs to ensure smooth adoption and long-term success.

Beyond business, she believes in giving back. Through the Helen Olegwa Nomuro Foundation, TITA supports education and women’s empowerment initiatives, ensuring that its success translates into opportunities for those who need them most.

Looking ahead, Ms Aminu envisions TITA as a leading force in Africa’s ed-tech landscape. Her goal is to make the company synonymous with innovation, accessibility, and empowerment, creating opportunities for young people—especially women—to thrive in technology and entrepreneurship.

As TITA continues to expand, its impact on the future of education in Africa is just beginning.
