Nigerian footballer Tochukwu Nnadi has completed a transfer to French Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille from Belgian club Zulte Waregem, the French club confirmed on Tuesday.
The move follows an impressive spell in Belgium, where Nnadi’s performances attracted interest from clubs outside the Jupiler Pro League. Marseille, one of France’s most successful and widely supported teams, have now secured the services of the Nigerian as part of efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Although details of the transfer were not immediately disclosed, the move marks a significant step in the player’s career, taking him from Belgian football to one of Europe’s top five leagues. Marseille, who play their home matches at the Orange Vélodrome, are regular contenders in domestic competitions and have a long history in European football.
Nnadi’s rise from Zulte Waregem to Marseille reflects his growing reputation and consistency in European football. The transfer also adds to the list of Nigerian players competing at the highest levels across Europe’s major leagues.
For Nigerian football followers, the move represents another milestone as a homegrown talent secures a place at a club with continental pedigree, further reinforcing Nigeria’s presence on the global football stage.
