The Nigeria Youth Assembly (NYA) has conferred the prestigious title of Patron upon Dr. Yakubu Adamu in recognition of his significant contributions to youth development and governance. The honor was bestowed in a formal ceremony held in Bauchi, attended by notable dignitaries and key stakeholders.

Receiving the award on behalf of Dr. Adamu was Shehu Adamu Gilas, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, who represented the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development of Bauchi. The event was led by the Rt Hon Sani Danaudi, who headed the delegation from the Youth Assembly.

During the ceremony, discussions centered on the critical role of youth in politics, governance, and community development, emphasizing the importance of continuity in governance. The Youth Assembly took the opportunity to reaffirm its support for the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, lauding his efforts in promoting youth participation in the state’s development agenda.

Additionally, the Assembly commended Dr. Yakubu Adamu for his unwavering support for youth causes and his instrumental role in fostering good governance in the region. His recognition as a Patron of the NYA highlights his dedication to empowering young people and driving meaningful policy initiatives.

A significant highlight of the event was the Youth Assembly’s announcement of a new bill being drafted for presentation to the Bauchi State House of Assembly. The proposed legislation seeks to ban the controversial practice of “Bola Jari,” a move aimed at curbing its negative effects on the youth in the state. The Assembly expressed its commitment to collaborating with lawmakers to ensure the bill’s passage, underscoring its dedication to safeguarding the welfare and future of Bauchi’s young population.
