The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully repelled a kidnapping attempt in Guto village, Bwari Area Council, during an early morning operation.

According to authorities, a group of armed attackers attempted to abduct residents, but police officers quickly confronted the suspects. In the ensuing exchange, two assailants were neutralised while others fled the scene. Tragically, one police officer sustained gunshot injuries and later died.

The FCT Commissioner of Police has since deployed additional personnel to secure the area and ordered a full-scale investigation to track down the fleeing attackers. The police assured residents that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain safety and prevent further incidents.

Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
