Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigeria’s 36 state Governors to ramp up their efforts in implementing Human Capital Development (HCD) programs, emphasizing that the nation’s future hinges on a skilled workforce, quality education, and the overall well-being of its communities.

Speaking at the HCD Steering Committee meeting, Shettima highlighted the critical need for swift, targeted action, asserting that state-level implementation must be treated as a top priority. He underscored the importance of regularly tracking key HCD indicators, advocating for consistent council meetings to ensure human capital remains at the heart of governance.

“Our collective prosperity as a nation is intricately tied to the investment we make in our people,” Shettima stated. “By prioritizing human capital, we are building a foundation for sustainable economic growth, social stability, and a future where every Nigerian can thrive.”

The Vice President’s message resonated deeply, as he called on Governors to not only intensify ongoing programs but also foster innovative solutions to address gaps in education, healthcare, and workforce development.

With hashtags like #HumanCapital, #Education, #Workforce, and #Governance gaining traction online, Shettima’s address is already sparking conversations nationwide, inspiring leaders and citizens alike to envision a future driven by knowledge, opportunity, and collective progress.

As Nigeria navigates an evolving global landscape, the emphasis on human capital development serves as a timely reminder that a nation’s true strength lies in the potential of its people and the commitment of its leaders to unlock that potential.
