The Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Yusuf Buba Yakub, on Wednesday met with a new batch of Nigerian volunteers set for deployment to the Republic of Seychelles and The Gambia.

The briefing, held at the NTAC headquarters in Abuja, brought together senior officials of the agency, including the Director of Administration, Ambassador Ahmed Yakubu Abdullahi, and the Director of Programmes, Ambassador Zakari Usman, alongside other key technical officers.

Addressing the volunteers, Mr Yakub commended their willingness to serve abroad, describing them as representatives of Nigeria’s expertise and values. He restated the core mandate of the Technical Aid Corps Programme: strengthening bilateral relations, supporting capacity building in partner countries, and advancing Nigeria’s soft-power diplomacy.

The DG urged the departing professionals to uphold professionalism, integrity, and excellence in their host countries, noting that their conduct would shape perceptions of Nigeria and sustain the reputation of the programme.

The eight volunteers, drawn from sectors such as education, healthcare, and technical services, are expected to depart in the coming days to assume their roles in both countries.

NTAC said it remains committed to deepening cooperation with friendly nations by deploying skilled Nigerian experts to support development efforts across Africa and beyond.
