The Yobe State House of Assembly has passed for third reading a bill to amend the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YOCHMA) Law 2025.

The bill which aims to improve the administration and effectiveness of the state’s healthcare system, now awaits Governor Mai Mala Buni’s endorsement to become law.

Speaker of the House,Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to collaborating with the executive arm, to enhance healthcare services, expressing optimism that the amended law will lead to improved health outcomes for all residents.

He maintained that the amendment, which is expected to strengthen the agency’s operations and ensure better access to quality and affordable healthcare services, would further improve YOCHMA’s framework, resulting in a more efficient and effective healthcare delivery system.
