Hon. Ismail Haruna Dabo, the Federal Representative for Toro Constituency in Bauchi State, has rolled out an ambitious round of development projects and economic support initiatives estimated in millions of naira, aimed at transforming neglected communities and empowering local residents.

During a weekend visit to his constituency, Hon. Dabo inspected several ongoing infrastructural efforts in Tilden Fulani, including the construction of township roads, a mini bridge, and culverts. He also reviewed a completed erosion control project, underscoring his administration’s commitment to addressing long-standing environmental and transport issues.

In a direct intervention to support displaced traders affected by state-level urban sanitation policies, Hon. Dabo allocated ₦4 million to 185 roadside vendors forced to vacate their business spaces. In a related gesture, ₦5 million was contributed to the Haske Mata Gida Gida women’s initiative, further demonstrating the lawmaker’s focus on grassroots economic upliftment.

The outreach continued with the distribution of 30 motorcycles and 15 refrigerators to local party loyalists and youth groups, a move aimed at stimulating small business activity and easing rural mobility. An additional ₦3 million was shared among community-based organizations and stakeholders present at the event.

One of the most significant milestones of the tour came on Sunday, when Hon. Dabo officially commissioned the newly constructed Sauke bridge in Wonu ward. Previously a hotspot for accidents and criminal activity, the bridge is now expected to improve connectivity and safety in the area. Local traditional leader, Mallam Ibrahim Dankwana, described the infrastructure as a “lifeline,” praising Dabo as a “redeemer” of the neglected community. Youth leader Anas Abdulkadir echoed the sentiment, appreciating the lawmaker’s attention to long-forgotten areas.

In recognition of his service, traditional leaders awarded Hon. Dabo the honorary title of Sarkin Ayyukan Gabas da Gumau and presented him with a symbolic ram. Barrister Ibrahim Yakubu, Chairman of the APC Stakeholders in Toro, hailed Dabo as an exemplary son of the land, pledging continued support for his developmental vision.

The events also had political significance. Alhaji Mamuda Mai Dutse led a group of prominent defectors from the opposition PDP to the ruling APC, signaling growing support for Dabo’s leadership across party lines.

Further cementing his healthcare agenda, Hon. Dabo unveiled a fully equipped maternity clinic in Kwabbo community. The facility, long overdue in a region that had struggled without basic healthcare infrastructure, is expected to significantly improve maternal and child health services.

In his remarks, the lawmaker expressed gratitude for the community’s consistent prayers and backing. He assured constituents that more initiatives were underway to address local challenges and elevate Toro Federal Constituency to new heights of progress.
