The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all candidates who uploaded their O’ level results before the release of the final 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results to return to accredited centres and re-upload their results.

In a statement, the Board explained that it has cleared all previously uploaded results from its system to ensure only the corrected and final WAEC results are used for this year’s admissions.

“JAMB has dropped all previously uploaded results to allow candidates to upload the WAEC SSCE final results. Please re-upload your 2025 SSCE result to the JAMB portal without delay to be eligible for admission consideration,” the Board said.

The directive affects candidates who wrote the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with “awaiting results” as well as those who had uploaded provisional WAEC results before the official release. JAMB warned that failure to comply could lead to exclusion from admission processes.

The move follows a turbulent month for students. On August 4, WAEC released results showing that only 38.32% of candidates passed with at least five credits including English and Mathematics. The announcement sparked alarm before the Council admitted to an internal error caused by a faulty serialized code file that affected grading in key subjects.

After a review, WAEC corrected the anomaly, raising the pass rate to 62.96%, and temporarily restricted access to its portal. JAMB then suspended uploads on August 14 to prevent discrepancies. By August 20, the portal reopened with all prior uploads wiped to create a clean slate.

Now, all candidates whether or not their previous uploads matched the final results must complete the process again to ensure accuracy in admissions.
