The National Assembly has reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, after months of closure following her suspension.

Her office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, was unsealed on Tuesday morning by the Sergeant at Arms, supported by combined security operatives, according to Channels Television.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for six months in March 2025 over alleged misconduct during a protest against the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20. The suspension barred her from participating in all activities of the 10th Senate.

Although the suspension officially ended in September, the lawmaker faced obstacles in resuming her duties due to legal disputes and opposition from the Senate leadership. Just last week, she formally wrote to the upper chamber declaring her intention to return, but the Senate rejected the move.

The unsealing of her office signals a step toward her return, though lingering tensions between the senator and the leadership remain unresolved.
