Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed reports suggesting he is planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting he remains committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described the speculation as “a calculated attempt by those afraid of the Governor’s soaring acceptability to create confusion and uncertainty in the minds of the people of Osun State.”

The governor restated his focus on delivering good governance and preparing the PDP for the forthcoming elections, stressing that he has “no plan whatsoever to join the ADC or any party for that matter.”

Adeleke urged supporters to disregard the “fake news,” assuring them that his preoccupation remains the consolidation of his mandate and mobilising voters for his re-election bid in 2026.

The rebuttal comes as Osun PDP grapples with high-profile defections to the APC, including federal lawmakers and senators citing internal crises and alignment with President Bola Tinubu.
