The European Union (EU) Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, in partnership with the Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Healthcare Value Chain (PVAC) and the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), will host the Nigeria-EU Health Investment Forum on October 30, 2025, in Abuja.
Themed “Made in Nigeria. Made for Health,” the event will bring together government leaders, investors, and industry experts to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity.
EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, said the forum would drive “health sovereignty” by promoting local production, investment, and innovation across Nigeria’s healthcare ecosystem. “We look forward to signing new partnerships and co-creating solutions that reinforce Nigeria’s health security,” Mignot added.
NIPRD Director-General, Dr Obi Adigwe, said the initiative showcases Nigeria’s readiness to lead Africa’s health manufacturing renaissance, while PVAC National Coordinator, Dr Abdu Mukhtar, described it as a turning point for healthcare transformation and private sector investment.
During the forum, key partners will sign agreements under the Team Europe Initiative on Manufacturing and Access to Vaccines, Medicines and Health Technologies (MAV+), and a regional accord under the West Africa Health Organisation (WAHO) to strengthen sexual and reproductive health policies and services.
