The assault occurred around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, according to Solomon Dalyop, President of the Berom Youths Moulders Association, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
“In another turn of events at about 7:50 p.m., bandits suspected to be armed Fulani attacked and shot dead two people, including Mr. Pam Choji, and injured one person,” Dalyop said, noting that the community had earlier received warnings of planned raids.
The Plateau State Police Command also confirmed the incident. Police spokesperson Alabo Alfred said officers were already on their way to the area for assessment.
The latest violence adds to a string of attacks that have unsettled several communities across Plateau State in recent months.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with security agencies to curb the killings, urging perpetrators to renounce violence and embrace peace.
