Former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has commended President Bola Tinubu for reforms he said are restoring hope among young Nigerians.

Speaking at the National Industrial Manpower Summit 2025, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Magu praised Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for prioritizing youth empowerment, skills development, and institutional reforms.

“Through your Renewed Hope Agenda, you are giving the next generation a reason to believe again, and tonight, we say thank you,” Magu said in his gala night address made public on Sunday.

He highlighted the growing resilience of Nigerian youths, citing examples of startups in Yaba, agribusiness in Nasarawa, fashion ventures in Aba, and app developers in Kaduna. “Our youths are not weak; they are not lazy. They are ready to lead,” he declared.

While commending Tinubu’s policies, Magu warned that corruption remains a major obstacle to manpower growth. He stressed that bribery in job recruitment, abandoned training projects, and mismanaged empowerment funds undermine national progress.

“Youths must reject corruption and embrace integrity. You are the bridge… if you refuse to cut corners and choose integrity over impunity,” he urged.

Magu called for transparent hiring processes, better education spending, whistleblower protection, and recognition for honest leadership. He concluded that with Tinubu’s reforms and the energy of Nigerian youths, the country could enter a new era of progress.
