Suspected gunmen have abducted the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry for Information, Barrister Yusuf Musa, in a brazen attack at his residence in Ungwan Nungu, Lafia, during the early hours of Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Barr. Musa, a former General Manager of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), was taken along with his vehicle, a GMC bearing plate number KUJ 88 PA.

Police authorities confirmed the abduction. According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, a patrol team discovered an abandoned Peugeot pick-up van near the premises with its doors left wide open, and the gate to the victim’s home ajar—prompting immediate concern.

“A search confirmed that Barr. Yusuf Musa was missing. The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has since launched a coordinated manhunt and alerted tactical units across divisions in Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko,” the PPRO stated.

He added that surveillance teams have been deployed along suspected escape routes, and efforts are ongoing to secure the victim’s safe return and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Police Command has urged the public to remain calm and vigilant, and to report any useful information to the nearest police station or via emergency lines: 08036157659, 08037461715, and 07032532391.
