The pioneer Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs Grace Adayilo, has died.

Adayilo reportedly passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.

No further details about the circumstances surrounding her death have been made public at this time.

President Bola Tinubu had appointed Adayilo as the FCT Head of the Civil Service on October 6, 2024. Her appointment, which took immediate effect, made her both the pioneer and the first female to hold the position.

Prior to becoming HoS, she served as Permanent Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the family nor the FCT Administration has issued an official statement.
