Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has celebrated the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s landslide win in the just-concluded local government elections, describing the outcome as a shared triumph for all residents of the state.

The APC secured all 57 chairmanship seats and won 375 out of 376 councillorship positions in the elections held across Lagos on Saturday.

In a statement issued Sunday, Sanwo-Olu extended his congratulations to the party’s leadership, supporters, and newly elected local government officials. He described the results as a powerful endorsement of the APC’s policies and commitment to grassroots development.

“This victory reflects the deep trust Lagosians have in our party’s vision, leadership, and inclusive approach to local governance,” the governor stated.

Sanwo-Olu, however, emphasized that the electoral success is only the beginning. He urged the incoming chairmen and councillors to serve with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

“This win is a call to action. The people expect transparency, humility, and unwavering commitment to their well-being regardless of political differences,” he said.

He also praised the dedication of aspirants who lost in the primaries, encouraging them to remain loyal and united under the APC’s broader goals.

“In any democratic contest, not everyone emerges victorious. But unity must always supersede individual ambition if we are to preserve our legacy of service and progress,” Sanwo-Olu added.

The governor commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for conducting a peaceful and credible election, and acknowledged the role of security agencies in maintaining order.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots transformation, Sanwo-Olu said the state government would work hand-in-hand with the newly elected local officials to achieve equitable development across all communities.

“Our mission remains clear: to build a Greater Lagos where no area is left behind,” he said.
