The Senate representing Yobe South Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Muhammad Bomai has provided financial support to young entrepreneurs, particularly youths and women, to boost the economy, reduce poverty, and empower future leaders.

The initiative, which covers all 44 wards in Potiskum, Fika, Fune, and Nangere LGAs, is intended to complement federal and state government efforts to create a more united, peaceful, and competitive society.

Since January 2025, the initiative has provided cash support ranging from N500,000 to N2 million to over 3,000 youths and women, including people living with disabilities.

Represented by his legislative aide, Abubakar Tamana, Sen. Ibrahim Bomai has also launched a Ramadan support program, distributing food supplies worth over N500 million to vulnerable individuals, widows, and orphans.

Tamana stated that the empowerment program, which is part of the dividends of democracy, would be a continuous process.

He added that arrangements have been finalized to disburse N500,000 as business support to widows and women in the constituency.

In addition to youth empowerment programs, the Lawmaker has also prioritized the welfare of his constituents by distributing cash and food items to all Councillors in the four Local Government Areas.

As part of his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has completed the construction of major roads and drainage systems, provided solar street lights and portable water, established ICT facilities for schools, and organized skills acquisition training, among other projects.

During the cash disbursement, each youth received between N1 million and N2 million to boost their businesses, while some of the women received N500,000.
