The All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State will launch its electronic membership registration in December, aiming to enlist 200,000 verified members in the first month. The project forms part of the party’s push to build a credible, technology-driven database ahead of the 2027 elections.

State Secretary Dr. Raymond Chidama announced in Yola that the new system will overhaul how the party organizes information and plans its activities. The APC revised its registration rules and now prioritizes the Permanent Voter Card over the National Identification Number. Chidama said the shift helps the party focus on members who can influence electoral outcomes.

He added that the data gathered will guide empowerment programmes and palliative support, allowing only verified participants to benefit.

Organizing Secretary Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, who coordinates the project, said the party adopted e-registration after reviewing the gap between its claimed membership figures and its actual votes. He pointed to national numbers that show over 50 million registered APC members but only about 8 million votes in the last presidential election. In Adamawa, the party records more than 600,000 members but produced roughly 200,000 votes in 2023.

Ribadu said the digital system will remove ghost entries and retain members who actively participate. The party has already invested millions of naira in laptops, printers, laminators, power banks, and other equipment, which now sit across wards, local governments, and zonal offices. Only accredited ward agents can register new members.

He thanked major party figures, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and APC National Vice Chairman Mustapha Salihu, for supporting the project. Ribadu said the Adamawa chapter wants a transparent, verifiable membership base before the 2027 polls.

“We aim to win Adamawa State, and we will win,” he said, adding that the digital rollout marks a major shift in the party’s direction.
