Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to repeal the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Law…

Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to repeal the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Law No. 6 of 2014 and Re-enacted Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Law 2025.

The passage of the bill followed its presentation on the floor of the house for third reading by the Majority Leader, Hon. Mrs. Kate Raymond Mamuno during Wednesday’s plenary.

According to the findings and observations of the committee on public petition, public service and electoral matters, the bill if assented to will improve and enhance hajj operations, improve discipline, training and retraining of the commission staff.

The committee also observed that in line with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) guidelines, Adamawa state will be among the states that have established full status of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission.

After considering the importance of the bill, motion for the third reading was moved by the Majority Leader and seconded by Deputy Speaker Mohammed Buba Jijjiwa.

Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley who presided over the plenary, put the motion to that effect for consideration and was supported by the lawmakers.

He therefore directed the clerk of the house to prepare and forward a clean copy of the bill to the Executive Arm for further action
