The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, Aliyu Musa, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Mubi Local Government Area.

Police spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, noting it followed a complaint lodged at Mubi South Divisional Headquarters on September 12, 2025.

Nguroje said the victim had sought shelter from rain in the suspect’s shop on September 11 when Musa allegedly lured her inside and raped her. He reportedly tried to silence her with money and a promise to buy a phone.

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, ordered a discreet investigation and assured the case would be diligently prosecuted. He condemned sexual violence against children and urged parents to educate them on personal safety while encouraging communities to report crimes without fear.

The command recalled a similar case in March 2025 when a 43-year-old man, Rabiu Usman, was arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in Ganye Local Government Area.
