As part of his ongoing initiative to strengthen youth participation in Nigeria’s democracy, the National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Comrade Balarabe Rufa’i, has paid a courtesy visit to Alhaji Bello Ibrahim SanGetso, the traditional head of Getso Town in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.

The visit, held on Thursday, was aimed at seeking the royal father’s blessings and urging traditional leaders across the country to lend their voices to the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise.

Speaking during the visit, Rufa’i emphasized the critical role traditional institutions play in mobilizing communities and shaping civic engagement.

“Traditional institutions play a key role in mobilizing our people. Their support will go a long way in encouraging young people and communities to register and participate fully in the democratic process,” he said.

The ADC youth leader underscored the importance of voter registration, stressing that active participation remains the bedrock of building a stronger Nigeria.

“The future of our nation depends on active participation. Your PVC is your power,” Rufa’i declared.

He called on youths in particular to seize the opportunity to register and ensure they are not left out in the decision-making processes that will define Nigeria’s future.

The royal father, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim SanGetso, while welcoming the delegation, expressed appreciation for the initiative and assured his support in encouraging people of Getso and beyond to take PVC registration seriously.

The courtesy call is part of a nationwide outreach program under the office of the ADC National Youth Leader, which seeks to partner with traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth organizations to boost voter registration and enhance democratic participation ahead of 2027.
