The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has restated its commitment to driving productivity, deepening financial inclusion, and ensuring monetary and price stability to strengthen the nation’s economy.

CBN Governor, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, gave the assurance on Tuesday while declaring open the 2025 CBN Fair at the Mineet Event Centre in Kano. He was represented by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Hakama Ali.

Cardoso said the fair was designed to directly engage the public on the bank’s policies for sustainable growth. “The core objective of this engagement is to sensitise members of the public on how the Bank’s policies enhance their lives and contribute to national development,” he stated.

Highlighting key reforms in the past two years, the governor listed exchange rate unification to reduce volatility, bank recapitalisation to strengthen resilience, and the non-resident BVN to connect Nigerians abroad to the financial system.

He added that the Nigeria Payments System Vision 2028 (PSV 2028) was launched to accelerate digital transformation, while the Unified Complaints Tracking System was introduced to protect bank customers and boost consumer confidence.

Earlier, the Acting Branch Controller of CBN Kano, Hajiya Saudatu Muhammad, described the fair as timely, urging participants to use the knowledge gained to advance economic development.

The 2025 edition drew representatives from mobile money operators, commercial banks, the National Orientation Agency, the Nigerian Army, academia, NYSC, civil society, and the business community.
