Dangote Petroleum Refinery has launched a ₦720 billion initiative to deploy 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for nationwide fuel distribution expected to save Nigerians over ₦1.7 trillion each year.

Starting August 15, the refinery will begin direct delivery of petrol and diesel to filling stations and large consumers, eliminating logistics costs and easing pump prices. The initiative will benefit over 42 million MSMEs, lower inflation, and promote clean energy.

According to Dangote, the trucks will help meet Nigeria’s daily fuel demand and support economic growth while creating green jobs and reducing cross-border smuggling.

The Presidency and key energy stakeholders have praised the move as a major step in transitioning to gas-powered transport and improving energy access nationwide.
