The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-MPWB) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 Hajj, requiring intending pilgrims to make a minimum deposit of N8.5 million.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Malam Muhammad Aliyu.

Director of the Board, Alhaji Kadiri Edah, disclosed during a meeting in Abuja that the deposit, payable through a bank draft from any commercial bank, must be submitted on or before December 2, 2025.

He explained that the draft, alongside the international passport of each applicant, should be presented to officials of the board at any of the six area councils of the FCT. Registration, he said, would be on a first-come, first-served basis, while only bank drafts will be accepted, as no cash payments are allowed.

Edah also advised intending pilgrims who had earlier deposited funds for previous Hajj exercises but could not travel to formally declare their interest before the deadline to secure seats for the 2026 pilgrimage.

He further assured that the board is introducing new strategies to improve services for registered pilgrims, while cautioning them to deal directly with the board and avoid fraudsters requesting additional payments beyond the approved fare.
