Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has restated his administration’s commitment to transforming the education sector through expanded infrastructure, reforms and new learning opportunities. He made the pledge at the combined 15th, 16th and 17th convocation of Adamawa State University, Mubi, where 9,225 students graduated.

The graduating class included 42 First Class students, 1,734 with Second Class Upper, 5,252 Second Class Lower, 1,842 Third Class and one with a Pass degree. The postgraduate category featured 22 PhDs, 100 MScs, 47 MPAs and several PGDs.

Fintiri praised the graduates, calling their achievements a symbol of hope. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening education through investments, international scholarships, and institutional growth. He commended the management team led by Vice Chancellor Professor Augustine Clement and Pro-Chancellor Professor Maxwell Gidado for elevating ADSU’s academic standards.

Under his Eight-Point Recalibrated Agenda, the Governor announced the construction of mega science and technical schools across all 21 LGAs and revealed that the new Adamawa State College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies in Gulak will open in January 2026.

He also introduced a new foreign scholarship initiative, “Project Wings,” which will send 100 students to Turkey next week, with another 200 heading to Australia and Canada early next year. Plans to hire 5,000 teachers and begin major infrastructure projects at ADSU, including new faculties and roadworks, were also outlined.

Vice Chancellor Professor Augustine Clement thanked the state government and partners for supporting ADSU’s growth. The event also featured honorary doctorate awards to Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu and Most Rev. Dami Mamza.
