At least 43 Palestinians have been killed in a new wave of Israeli air and artillery strikes across the Gaza Strip, with many of the victims reportedly sheltering in tents or seeking aid when the attacks occurred.

Local sources and health officials said the dead include civilians displaced by previous fighting, raising further alarm over the safety of makeshift encampments and humanitarian zones.

Footage and eyewitness accounts describe scenes of panic and devastation, as strikes hit areas believed to be sheltering people awaiting food and medical assistance. The attacks come amid an escalating crisis in Gaza, where aid deliveries remain severely restricted and displacement continues on a massive scale.

Human rights groups have condemned the latest attacks, warning that the targeting of civilian areas and aid seekers could amount to violations of international humanitarian law.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the specific incidents but has previously stated its operations are aimed at eliminating militant threats embedded in civilian zones. However, the growing death toll and repeated hits on sites designated for displaced people have drawn widespread criticism.

With over a million Palestinians now displaced, humanitarian agencies warn that Gaza is fast becoming uninhabitable, as critical infrastructure collapses and safe zones diminish.

Calls for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of protected humanitarian corridors have grown louder, even as diplomatic efforts remain deadlocked and violence continues to spiral.
