The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all Nigerian public universities to complete their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.

Private universities are expected to conclude admissions by November 30, while all other tertiary institutions, whether public or private, have until December 31, 2025, to finalize.

The directive, contained in JAMB’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, follows resolutions reached at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.

According to the board, the move is aimed at ensuring a stable academic calendar and equitable access to admission opportunities across institutions.

    JAMB stated:

“Following the directives issued at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Honorable Minister of Education, all tertiary institutions have been instructed to conclude their admission processes by the end of 2025 according to the schedule below: Public universities October 31; Private universities  November 30; All other institutions –December 31.”

The board further advised universities and other tertiary institutions to finalize their admission exercises promptly, even if their academic sessions have not commenced, stressing that admission lists could be archived for later use.

“By this policy directive, all admission processes must be concluded within the prescribed timelines,” JAMB added.

In addition, the board ordered institutions conducting post-UTME screening to conclude them without delay to ensure full compliance with the 2025 admission calendar.

JAMB emphasized that the directive would help address disruptions caused by delayed admissions, maintain a uniform calendar, and improve transparency in Nigeria’s higher education system.
