About 60 people held captive by bandit groups in Katsina State have been released after a peace deal with the criminals.
The freed hostages were handed over to the chairmen of Dandume and Sabuwa local government areas on Wednesday.
This was contained in a post shared on Wednesday by security analyst Bakatsine, who said the release was part of ongoing peace efforts between government officials and bandit leaders.
“Following peace deal with bandits groups, about 60 captives have just been released this afternoon. They were handed over to the chairmen of Dandume and Sabuwa LGAs, Katsina State,” Bakatsine wrote.
